Drama series Zina gets second season
Zina is a drama series full of humour about five girlfriends. The first series aired around the turn of 2020/2021 on NPO3, was nominated for a Rockie Award (Banff), and shortlisted for a Golden Calf and a Rose d'Or.
Season 1 revolved around the story of Amal who seems to have it all right, but is stuck between far too complex doubts and question marks. Her wedding ends in one big fiasco, and her friends have their own problems. At the end of the first season, the five of them leave for Morocco to celebrate their invincible sisterhood - even though the sad occasion of their trip is the funeral of Lamya's father.
The second season continues the stories of these five girlfriends, who once again have to find their way in love, their jobs, family and, above all, with each other. The five girlfriends are portrayed by Soumaya Ahouaoui (Amal), Asma El Mouden (Lamya), Jouman Fattal (Sofia), Dunya Khayame (Nisrine) and Sofia Yousfi (Samira).
Zina is produced by MediaLane and KRO-NCRV. The series is written by Fadua El Akchaoui, Dunya Khayame, Manju Reijmer & Daria Bukvić. It is directed by Fadua El Akchaoui and she and Daria Bukvić are also the creative producer of Zina.
