An impossible love and special friendships in the new heart-warming Christmas series Remy & Juliyat

The 14-year-old Remy is having a hard time at home. His parents have just divorced and he is constantly struggling with his father Bart, who has to get used to his role as a single parent and is angry because of the arrival of an AZC in their small village. The equally old Juliyat has just had a traumatic flight from Syria and is moving into the AZC with her rebellious brother Hamza and unfortunate parents. In a village where she knows nobody and is clearly not wanted. And these two teenagers fall in love with each other ...

In the small village of Paverdam, an old fire station is temporarily being used as an AZC. Not all residents are happy with this and fear that it will become unsafe on the street. The residents of the AZC, in turn, distrust the villagers and do not feel welcome. In the midst of all this, Remy and Juliyat have other things on their mind. Remy is intrigued by the tough, smart Juliyat, who has had a lifetime and is used to setbacks. Juliyat finds the light and uninhibited that she longs for with the cheerful Remy. But being in love in a hostile environment is not an easy task. Desperate, the teenagers try to be together, first openly and later secretly. All their attempts to bring the warring parties together fail miserably. And when their love is betrayed, it sharpens the relationship between the villagers and the AZC residents with catastrophic consequences. Will both parties manage to bury the hatchet just before Christmas? Remy and Juliyat is a modern variant of Romeo and Juliet. A story about loyalty, betrayal, but also the realization that every person is special. A heart-warming, light childhood drama, in which love does eventually conquer.
